FTM recent

The 2021 North Florida PGA Pro-Scratch is officially history!

Following the 2021 NFPGA Section Championship at the Streamsong Resort, players gathered at the beautiful Isleworth Golf & Country Club to compete in one of the most anticipated Section events of the year: the Pro-Scratch.

Fifty-two teams (comprised of one Professional and one Amateur) brought their A-game to the field with the goal of victory on their minds. Shotgun kicked off at 9 a.m., and the players were off!

After finishing 10-under (62), the winners were… Matt Borchert (Isleworth Golf & Country Club) and Christian Vozza! Borchert and Vozza carded a team total of 11 birdies throughout 18 holes of play. It was a notable victory for Borchert, who fought on his home turf and represented his facility proudly. As a team, Borchert and Vozza carded seven birdies on the back nine, thus securing a comfortable victory against the rest of their competitors.

Landing in second was Zoran Ilic (Grasslands Golf & Country Club) and Austin Jones, who finished 6-under (66). As a team, they carded seven birdies and were able to pull slightly ahead of Jason Beatty (River Greens Golf Course) and Brian Bone, as well as Nick Joy (Isleworth Golf & Country Club) and Doug Dvorak. Both teams finished 5-under (67).

Beginning on the third hole was Greg Koch (Ritz-Carlton Golf Club-Grande Lakes Orlando), who recently clinched the victory at the Section Championship. Koch played alongside Marc France, hoping to replicate their 2020 Pro-Scratch triumph. As the newly crowned Section Championship winner and returning Pro-Scratch victor, all eyes were on Koch. France carded a birdie for the team on their first hole of the day, while Koch and France both carded a birdie on the seventh hole. Koch made a birdie for the team on the ninth and tenth holes. With eight birdies, Koch and France ended the event at 4-under (68) and rounded out the top five.

Congratulations to the champions on their victory, and thank you to everyone who played. Check out the full leaderboard here!
