Each afternoon we'll provide a wrap-up of that day's round along with a few choice photos to keep you up to date. Today's round is already underway- Kyaw Htet, Jeff Boudrie, and Scott Wilson were the first to hit the course with an early morning tee time of 7:43 am. The final group of the day, Wally Les and James Delnick will be teeing off at 12:23 pm.
This is the second year that the North Florida PGA is hosting a Women's Section Championship, and with seven fantastic players, their rounds will be worth watching. Tune in this afternoon for some Round 1 highlights!
It's been a long day, delayed by poor weather, but we are finally done with Round 1 of the 2020 NFPGA Section Championship! 2019 Section Champion, Rod Perry finished the day in first place with an impressive 9 birdies shooting 9 under (64) for the Round. Close on his heels is Josh Wolfe, carding 8 under for a score of 65 in Round One. Wolfe also shot an impressive 9 birdies with five on the front 9. The pair won't be able to rest in Rounds Two and Three, as they are followed closely by Matt Borchert in third place. Senior Section Champion Keith Kulzer scored even par, tying for 24th place with Ryan Hritz, Terrence Woodard, PJ Politan, and Rob Lee.
In Round 1 of the NFPGA Women's Section Championship Nathalie Filler, a relative newcomer to the NFPGA Section, is in the lead with a score of 3 under (70) with five birdies. In second place is Emily Motta with a score of -1 (72). Third place is currently held by both the Northern Chapter Champion, Jennifer Borocz, and Lorie Wilkes. With only one more round until a Champion is named, the Women's Section Championship will be worth watching.

Day two began with the second and final round of the Women's Section Championship at 7:43 am. The seven competitors made quick work of the Black Course at Streamsong Resort and wrapped up their round by 12:30 pm. With 5 birdies in today's round, Nathalie Filler has been able to hold on to her early lead and claim the title of NFPGA Women's Section Champion with a total score of -6 (140)! Her win didn't come easily as runner-up Emily Motta finished the day 4 under for a total score of -5 (141).
With 4 birdies on the back nine, it looked like Motta might surpass Filler, but Filler's early work in Round 1 kept her safe. Third place goes to Jennifer Borocz who shot even par in today's round for a total score of +2 (148). The three will go on to compete in Round 3 tomorrow for the title of NFPGA Section Champion.
Hours after the Women's Section Championship finished, the final groups competing in Round 2 of the NFPGA Section Championship made their way into scoring. With 7 birdies in today's round for a total of 11 birdies in the competition so far, Matthew Chen climbed the leaderboard to 14th place where he is tied with Barry Cheesman and Clint Whitelaw. Jason Beatty and Jim Garrison also made impressive climbs up the leaderboard, knocking Women's Section Champion, Nathalie Filler, into 8th place. Beatty shot 4 under in his second round to finish the day with a total score of -8 (138) while Garrison shot 3 under to finish at -7 (139) and landed in 4th and 6th place, respectively. Beatty is tied with early frontrunner Josh Wolfe and Garrison is tied with Jason Hrynkiw.
The final two groups of the day saw plenty of jockeying for position as Greg Koch climbed to third place with 6 birdies and a score of 5 under in his second round for a total score of -10 (136). Matt Borchert has usurped Rod Perry for the first place spot by shooting 9 birdies in Round 2 (that's a total of 17 birdies through the competition so far). Borchert's total score is -15 (131) with Perry on his heels at -14 (132).
Day three of the NFPGA Section Championship is in full swing! The day began with a bang as Jennifer Borocz made a hole-in-one on hole 5, the longest par 3 on the Black Course. Check-in with our social media accounts (@nfloridapga) as we'll be sharing live updates throughout this final round!
With only a short rain shower at 11:30 am, the final round of the NFPGA Section Championship ran right on time with the first groups checking into scoring just after 12:00 pm. Justin Sheehan, tied for 12th with a score of -3 (216), made an eagle on his first hole of the day while Hayes Farley, tied for 19th with a total of -1 (218), made an eagle on his final hole. Mike Glenn made an eagle on hole 6, he is the only player to win skins in the championship round.
With 7 birdies in today's round, Mark Rummings moved up the leaderboard and finished in 4th place with a total score of -9 (210). The final group of competitors consisting of 7-time champion Rod Perry, Greg Koch, and Matt Borchert were neck and neck throughout the round. Perry, with five birdies on the day, pulled ahead of Borchert on the par 3 17th hole. His total score of 17 under par (202) earned him a three-peat and his eighth overall championship title. Matt Borchert made two birdies and an eagle in today's round, earning him the runner-up title with a total score of -16 (203). In third place, Greg Koch shot 2 under in today's round for a total of -12 (207).
