    Congratulations To Our 2021 PGA Professional Championship Qualifiers!

The 2020 NFPGA Professional Championship Title isn't the only thing Matt Borchert, PGA, walked away with on June 23rd at Lakewood National Golf Club! He, along with 7 other talented NFPGA Golf Professionals, earned the opportunity to compete in the 54th PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie!

2020 NFPGA Professional Championship Results

On June 22nd and 23rd, a total of 59 NFPGA Golf Professionals competed in the 2020 NFPGA Professional Championship at Lakewood National Golf Club for a chance to compete in the 54th PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie. The North Florida PGA Section is pleased to announce three time winner, Matt Borchert, PGA, from Winter Garden, Florida, as the 2020 NFPGA Professional Champion! Congratulations to our Champion and to our other 7 qualifying Professionals. What an accomplishment!

On June 23rd, Borchert claimed his NFPGA Professional Championship victory after shooting a 68 in Round One and a 66 in Round Two, carding a 134 two-day total (-10). Coming in four strokes behind, PGA Professionals, Greg Koch (Orlando, Fl) and Rod Perry (Port Orange, Fl), tied for second place carding a two-day total of 138 (-6) with Koch shooting a 69 in both Rounds and Perry shooting a 68 in Round One and a 70 in Round Two.

Following close behind in 4th place, David Hronek (Port Charlotte, Fl) shot a 67 in Round One and a 73 in Round Two, with a two-day total of 140 (-4). All three carding a 142 (-2) two-day total, Christian Bartolacci (Sarasota, Fl), Mark Rummings (Bradenton, Fl), and Ryan Hritz (Clearwater, Fl) tied for 5th Place. Our 8th qualifier, Keith Kulzer (Land O Lakes, Fl) followed one stroke behind, shooting a 73 in Round One and a 70 in Round Two, with a two-day total of 143 (-1).

We would like to congratulate all of our players on their NFPGA Professional Championship finish and we would like to thank our staff, partners, and Lakewood National Golf Club for their hard work and commitment to the NFPGA!

2021 PGA Professional Championship

(Not to be condused with the NFPGA Pro-Pro Championship on July 27th-28th)

PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, will host the 2021 PGA Professional Championship, the world’s largest all-professional event, on its Wanamaker (primary) and Ryder Courses. The 54th PGA Professional Championship will be conducted in the Spring of 2021, with all four rounds to be broadcast live on Golf Channel. The Championship is presented by Club Car and OMEGA. This will be the seventh playing of the Championship in the state of Florida, first since 1993.
 
“The PGA of America is excited to bring the 2021 PGA Professional Championship to PGA Golf Club and Florida's Treasure Coast,” said PGA President Suzy Whaley. “The Wanamaker and Ryder Courses have every element required to host a memorable national championship and challenge an exceptionally talented field of 312 PGA Professionals. This announcement reflects the PGA of America's long-term commitment to PGA Golf Club and the Port St. Lucie community.”
 
The PGA Professional Championship field is comprised of players who advance from the 41 PGA Section Championships, along with Past Champions. The low 20 scorers at PGA Golf Club will earn a berth in the 2021 PGA Championship at The Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
