If you have not heard, Governor DeSantis has announced that effective Friday, Florida (less Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade) will be moving to Phase 2. Earlier this week, in anticipation of this, we submitted a request asking for clarity on what cart restrictions will be in Phase 2. Back2Golf states in Phase 2 for approved pairings there can be two people per cart. However, approved pairings have to be determined by the state or local government. We have not received information back on our request. To be clear, a golf course can not make up their own definition of what is an approved pairing. As such, until we receive information from the Governor's Office or designated Agency, the status quo for golf carts should remain the same. Once we have this information, we will be sending out a communication to the full membership as we have done with other key communications. We hope to have an answer very soon as we know loosening up cart restrictions will be very helpful for your operations. In the meantime, as Kevin Paschall said in his President's Message, be responsible and be a leader.
In anticipation of this announcement and our own resumption of tournaments, Steve McMillen sat down with Bailey Chamblee (remotely of course) to discuss the steps and precautions the North Florida PGA will be taking.
