Did you know that golf contributes $8.2 billion in economic impact, $3.6 billion in wage income and 132,000 jobs to the state of Florida alone?
Yesterday, NFPGA Executive Director Steve McMillen headed to the Capital with other golfers from Florida to discuss golf’s impact on the state’s economy, growth and tourism. Florida Golf Day allows leaders in the golf industry to meet with legislators and share with them the benefits of a strong golf community. Other participants included Geoff Lofstead from the South Florida Section, representatives from We Are Golf, and representatives of the PGA Tour. The key issues discussed included taxes, disaster relief, tourism promotion, and environmental regulations.
