One player in particular moved his way up on the leaderboard signficantly. At the end of round one, Terence Woodard was T11. With a great start to his second round, Woodard birdied Hole #4. Woodard continued his move with a birdie on Hole #10. Woodard finished the back nine with three more birdies and a tournament total 140. Woodard was in contention for first place and all he had to do was wait for West to turn his scorecard into the clubhouse.
West's round began steady again until Hole #4 where he recorded a double bogey. This was the same hole that Woodard had birdied. West went on to finish the front nine well with birdies on #8 and #9. The back nine, however, had another rough start. West made bogeys on #10 and #11. The gap between West and Woodard was closing. Determined, West finished the back nine with two birdies on Par-3 holes. West turned his scorecard into the clubhouse where his total was added. West's total was 139, confirming him the new NFPGA Senior Section Champion.
